Practical Information
Doha Metro excellent and cheap. Karwa taxis or Careem app. Car rental for desert. Doha is very walkable along the Corniche.

Modest dress required in public. No public alcohol except in licensed hotels and restaurants. Ramadan restrictions apply during the holy month.
Exceptional Arabic cuisine at Souq Waqif. Five-star hotel restaurants. Machboos (spiced rice with meat), harees, luqaimat desserts.
Qatar is expensive by regional standards but hotels have improved in value. Souq restaurants very affordable. Desert tours $50–100/person.
Hayya Card available to all visitors. Alcohol served in hotels. Public displays of affection restricted. Dress modestly outside hotels.
