Earth's Last Paradise — Overwater Villas & the Indian Ocean
About This Guide
The Maldives is the planet's lowest-lying nation (average elevation 1.5 m above sea level) and one of its most extraordinary destinations. 1,192 coral islands in the Indian Ocean, 26 atolls, and some of Earth's clearest water (visibility often 40+ metres). Famous for overwater bungalows, bioluminescent beaches on Vaadhoo Island, and world-class diving with whale sharks, manta rays, and hammerheads.
